Tasks:
– Ingredient preparation including:
- Measuring dry and wet ingredients
- Wash, chop and properly store vegetables.
- Slice meat using slicer, properly store meat, and
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize processing equipment and prep station.
– Food preparation including:
- Portioning toppings and dips
- Making roux and cooking sauces
- Rolling and storing dough
- Preparing desserts.
– Keeping workstation clean, cleaning dishes, utensils, and store.
– Follow recipes thoroughly; maintain both quality and health regulation standards
You will also support the team and need to be able to:
- Cook pizzas - Stretch, top, and bake pizza in a stone deck oven.
- Customer service - Take orders in-person and over the phone, cash customers out using our POS, and verify Uber and hand-off orders correctly.
- Restocking – Filling drink fridges, restocking kitchen fridges on inventory day, and assisting with inventory checks.
- Perform any other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
- At least one (1) year in a restaurant or food service is required, particularly in prep, pizza making, or similar roles.
- Smart serve is required.
- Food handler certificate is required or obtained upon hiring.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of food handling, food storage, and food safety regulations is a must.
- Strong knife skills.
- Must be able to safely use commercial kitchen equipment including food processors, blenders, hand blenders, mandolins, knives, hot plates, and ovens.
- Must know how to use a kitchen scale and understand the difference in weights and measurements including grams, tsp, cups, cms, inches, mm, and have accurate measuring. ((Believe it or not, our regulars can tell when someone’s gone rogue with the paprika.))
- Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing 0-50 pounds during scheduled shift.
- Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, walk and squat (we have really low stairs in our basement) for long periods during scheduled shift.
- Strong self-starter; ability to multitask and focus on staying on task in a fast-paced and small environment.
- Strong communication and understanding of kitchen calls; ability to ask questions and not assume.
- Excellent time management.
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and customer service.
- Ability to self-start tasks.
- Smart serve is required.
- Food handler certificate is required or obtained upon hiring.

Licence/Certification:
